Emmett Berg and David Mijares caught 2 shibi and 12 aku for some fun action at the buoy today
|
In the early morning light we set out on this day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we baited but only had a few hits and misses, Then we jigged and the aku and shibi were biting good it was lots of doubles. We ran an aku live and jigged some more, fun on light line. These guys did great today good going guys. In the harbor Emmett was bold enough to eat a shibi heart, it's great to see what people will do for $20. Aloha Capt Rusty

Jon Cook, Ryan Grippin, Jonah Grippin, Chase Cook caught 3 mahi 1 ono 3 shibi and 15 aku for some great action today
|
We set out in the darkness on this day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. On our way we took several ono hits and landed one of them. Then we found an open school and took a double and baited up a big bully, we got the bully and one more in the boat. One more school and we take a hit and land a nice big wahine. At the buoy we baited and hooked a small shibi and had a few more hits. then we jigged and it was doubles most of the time, Chase was the top angler on the aku, he just kept reeling them in one after another. Kristen Kennedy, Steve Corson, Shelbe Burns and Carol Corson caught 1 barracuda on their half day trip today
|
In the darkness of 5 AM we got going on this day of 20 kph trades going to the ledge. When we baited we had a bite right away and Shelbe landed a nice barracuda. Awhile later we had 2 hits from onos but they missed the hooks. Lots more baiting but no more bites. These folks did great today good to have them aboard. Aloha Capt Rusty

Brian Spain, Danny Spain, Paul Spain, Ian Spain, Marcus Green and Brenden Dankert caught 8 mahi 4 shibi and 10 aku for an action packed day of fishing.

Right on time in the dark we took off on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we took a mahi hit and landed a nice one. We came back with bait and hooked one more up and got it. Next pass Scot hooked a double mahi and they came aboard too, there were sharks there but we managed to keep our fish away from them somehow. It was great action almost every pass we hooked up. Then we jigged and caught some small aku and a few shibi, and ran an aku live. We set up and trolled outside but only found an aku school but it broke up as we got there. these guys did good today good going men. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going in the dark on this day of 20 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. Along the way we took and ono hit and got a nice one. At the buoy we baited and hooked a mahi and got it and had a shark eat a bait to. We came back with a wire leader and hooked a shark and reeled it in and took it's picture and scolded it and let it go. Then with the sharks out of the way we baited up some more mahi. Then we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi and ran an aku live. We baited again and Scot hooked 2 more mahi and we got them both. On our way in we had another ono hit and got it. These folks did great today they were a pleasure to have aboard, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

Mike Geraghty, Mark Cefalu, Cole Cefalu and russ Moody caught 3 mahi and 1 aku for a bit of fun today

We started off right on time going to my next favorite buoy on this day of 25 kph trades. At the buoy we baited and hooked a mahi and Cole got it in the boat. Then we had a double on and one came off and one came aboard. We jigged but could not get a bite so back to bait. We had a few more on but they got away. We set up and trolled outside but found nothing there so back inside we went. 3 miles out we had an ono hit and then an aku hooked up and we got it. These guys were fun to have aboard good going men. We set out on time on this day of 25 kph trades going to a west side buoy. At the buoy we baited and jigged and got no hits so we headed back to the ledge. There we baited and took a kawakawa hit and landed a nice 17 pounder. These guys did great on this sorta rough day good going guys. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at the right time with 25 kph trades blowing headed to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we jigged and caught some small aku and shibi and ran an aku live. When we baited the only thing that came around was a shark and he did not come close. So we set up and trolled to another buoy where we baited up one mahi. Then as we set up to troll in the rigger slamed and we had another mahi on and J.J. landed a nice one. We still had a few rain squalls go by us today, but it was a bit nicer than it has been. We got going in the dark on this day of 25 kph trades going to my next favorite buoy. Along the way we hooked a small mahi and landed it. At the buoy we jigged and caught some aku and shibi and ran an aku live. Before long a shark ate our aku and Jake reeled it in and we reprimanded it and let it go. When we baited a shark ate the shibi we hooked up right a way so we set up and trolled outside. We found one mahi under a few birds and scot baited it up and we got it. These folks did great on this rainy rough day of big seas and windy conditions, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty
